So tonight was the night that Drew finally had his first practice of a sport! Five years of being dragged around ball fields, gyms, and parks, and it was finally his turn! Drew started playing T-Ball for our local Christian league. His brothers also started in this league, and it's a great place to start. His coach was awesome, and he has a pretty good assistant coach...his dad, who did have to miss the first practice, but was there by phone and text watching most of it!
Drew started the afternoon not wanting to play, but then said that if he could get "those special bands that Jackson had that make him run fast," well then, he would play after all! He wanted wristband sweatbands, and those are his magic bands that make him "super fast!!" I just love this kid! He's just precious, and I love this age!! I took him to the store tonight to get his new baseball glove and some balls. When we got home, he wanted me to play catch with him and said that he needed to train! How cute!!!
Even cuter was that when he was out on the field and ready to play. He was playing short stop, and every time the ball was hit, he went for it! It didn't matter where it was hit, whether it was near him or on the other side of the field, he went for it, and when he got there, he slid! It was sooo cute!! On the way home, he said he had fun playing his game and thanked me for coming. He said that he especially loved playing baseball! It was so sweet, and so fun to see him finally be the one on the field and us all cheering for him, even if it was just practice tonight! It was also sweet to watch Jackson smile at him and cheer for him!
The season is just getting started for all of the boys. More updates soon!!
