Last weekend we took a quick trip to the mountains to teach the kiddos how to ski! Sounds like a lot of fun, right? Well, it is once you forget the three hours it took to get our rentals, get dressed out and equipped with all of our gear, and actually step foot, or rather ski, onto the slopes! Davis took ski school, and the other boys wanted nothing to do with it, which left me and AJ testing our skills as ski teachers! I kept asking Davis for his tips and tricks that he learned in ski school, and that definitely helped!! Hey, who knew that telling kids to put their skis like a pizza wedge or french fry would work! Davis took off and picked it up so quickly! It was SOOOO cute to see him fly down the hill on his own, make it to the lift { which by the way was so cute...like a magic carpet or escalator that would carry the boys up the hill } and come right back down!
Jackson decided to teach himself to ski, and did a really good job! Of course he wanted to be all decked out with goggles and ski poles, and he sure looked like a pro coming down the mountain. What a confidence builder to teach yourself to ski and enjoy it!
AJ and I tried our hand with Drew, and he did good too. No poles for him, but he held onto my hand and skied next to me down the bunny slope about 15 times, and even down a few green runs. My shoulders are sore from holding him up! We'll try again next year. It was a lot of fun for the whole family, and even more fun to try something new and watch the kids each pick it up so well!
